Product Description

Minted for just 2 years in 1857 and 1858, the Flying Eagle cent is one of America’s most clean and elegant looking coins and was extremely popular with the public at the time.  It was America’s first small-sized cent and was struck as an alternative for the Large Cent (a coin that was about the size of a Half Dollar).

These beautiful coins were the last cents issued before the adoption of the better-known Indian Head cents.  Most surviving specimens have suffered varying degrees of damage, but in F (Fine) condition as these are, this coin is quite a collector’s bargain.  If you were to purchase a never-circulated specimen it would cost well over $3,000.  It makes a great deal of sense for collectors to add this hand-selected Fine condition cent to their collection and save over $2,900 in the process.  Each coin is protectively sealed in an air-tight capsule and comes with a free display box.
