2009 Lincoln Anniversary Silver Dollar - PR70 Grade
On Feb. 12, 2009, the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth, the United States Mint released a magnificent commemorative Silver Dollar. It was issued in a very limited edition - a total of only 500,000 coins were struck in Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof condition. The coin offered here is in certified Proof PR-70 quality. What's more this coin is also Deep Cameo (DCAM).
The obverse of the Silver Dollar features an image of President Lincoln with the inscriptions LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2009. The reverse features those immortal last 43 words of his most famous speech, The Gettysburg Address, encircled in a laurel wreath placed at its center. Above the wreath is the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Below is a curling banner with Lincoln's signature incused in the center and on either side of the signature, the words ONE DOLLAR and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
